Cabinet approves of amendment to the Trade Unions Act, 1926 to make provisions regarding recognition

The Cabinet has approved of amendment to the Trade Unions Act, 1926 to make provisions regarding Recognition of Trade Unions. The approval will facilitate – a) Recognition of Trade Unions at Central and State Level b), it will ensure true representation of workers in the tripartite bodies, c) Check on the arbitrary nomination of workers’ representatives by the Government and will reduce litigations and industrial unrest.
